Emma Heming Willis admitted she contemplated divorce before Bruce Willis’ dementia diagnosis as the couple struggled with diverging values and communication issues.

Bruce, 70, was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2022, a condition that affects speech and behavior; Emma, 47, has since become his full-time caregiver.

Speaking on The Oprah Podcast, Emma said Bruce still “speaks” but his words “don’t connect,” noting that while his brain is deteriorating, he remains “present in the here and now.”

Emma first noticed changes when Bruce’s childhood stutter returned and they began clashing on values and conversations, leaving her confused and frustrated.

The former model confessed she “definitely thought about divorce” during those years but later realized Bruce’s decline explained their struggles, not the relationship itself.
