The last drawing on September 26, worth $474 million, produced no jackpot winners, though one player in Virginia matched five white balls and won $1 million, doubled to $2 million by the 2x multiplier.

Despite its size, the jackpot is still below Mega Millions’ top 10, with the lowest of those being $648 million in 2013 and the record $1.602 billion jackpot from August 8, 2023.

The odds of hitting the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 290,472,336, slightly better than Powerball’s 1 in 292,201,338, while the odds for winning the $1 million prize stand at 1 in 12,629,232.

As of April 8, 2025, Mega Millions raised its starting jackpot to $50 million, added built-in multipliers up to 10x, eliminated breakeven prizes, and doubled the ticket price to $5 with a $10 minimum prize.
