Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl debuted at No. 1 on every Billboard chart, selling a record-breaking four million equivalent units, surpassing Adele’s 25 as the biggest debut in U.S. history.

In its second week, the album experienced a sharp drop in both sales and streaming, though this decline was expected after such an unprecedented first-week performance.

Despite a 92% overall drop in consumption, The Life of a Showgirl still remained at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, earning another 338,000 equivalent units in its second week.

Album sales decreased 97%, from 3.479 million copies sold in week one to 101,000 copies in week two — still an extraordinary number in today’s streaming-dominated era.

Swift faced minimal competition for the top spot, as the KPop Demon Hunter soundtrack, the week’s No. 2 album, sold just over 104,000 equivalent units, far behind Swift’s figures.

On the Top Album Sales chart, Swift’s 101,000 second-week sales easily outpaced Twice’s new release Ten: The Story Goes On, which debuted at No. 2 with only 22,600 purchases.
